Pacific Valve presents one “Classic” of an amp. The Classic 16.2 integrated amp brings the best in a
flea watt amp – a 300B tube with bias adjustment capability. The Classic 16.2 employs a precision
meter that makes “on the fly” bias adjustment a snap. The Classic 16.2 also includes a tube timer
that records the time that the 300B tube has been in use and takes the guesswork out of tube
maintenance.
The 300B is not where the story ends. The Classic 16.2 also used the wonderful 6SN7 tube as an input
driver, no negative feedback and a pure copper choke to deliver a whopping 9.5 watts of state-of-the-art
flea watt sound at an unprecedented value. If your typical Chinese audio importer imported the Classic
16.2, the Classic 16.2 would be going for over $5000.00 !
The Classic 16.2 is chocked full of features. In addition to the bias meter and tube counter, the Classic
16.2 sports a headphone jack, 4 inputs and turn on delay.
The Classic 16.2 is a very well built flea watt amplifier. Jensen and Phillips caps are used throughout.
Silicon steel transformer windings keep induction density to 1.9T. These over-designed transformers
are capable of much more current than the 300B tubes cab generate. The chassis is crafted from fine
grade steel in a sandwich configuration. The transformer lay out in the pyramid configuration allows for
even weight and thermal distribution. The Classic 16.2 is a heavy amp and weighs over 50lbs!
