Product Details
We made significant changes to the DAC 60 to sound closer to the DAC 68. The modification
improves the sound of the stock DAC in the following ways:
We made a number of circuit changes and modifications. In addition to circuit modifications, we
replaced some critical capacitors with WIMA Black Box Metallized Polypropylene, Mcap "White Jacket"
across the outputs and Elna caps for audio. These together created the sound quality above.

- Imaging
- The stability of the images, how they appear in the sound stage and the space
between images. Images to the left and right speakers are more noticeable. The
stock DAC 60 tended to smear these together.
Low End
- The modified DAC 60 has a deeper low end with more dynamic punch. The stock DAC
60 had a more “British sound”. It models the low end like a good EL34 amplifier. It is
present, but a little shallow. The modified DAC 60 is the opposite i.e., very pronounced
and forceful.
Dynamics
- The dynamics are vastly improved and the noise floor has been lowered. The
modification takes more advantage of the PMC1704UK capabilities than the stock DAC
60
