Pacific Valve Shenda SD203
Product Details
Compact, yet powerful 40 watt per channel EL34 based amplifier. The Shenda SD203 has 4 gold
plated inputs, 4, 8 ohm speaker jacks, power indicator light, bias adjustment and fault / overload
protection.
Four EL34 / 6CA7 drive a push pull configuration in a relatively simple, yet proven design. 12AX7 and
12AT7 tubes drive the preamp and stage one amplifier section. Rubycon caps are part of the circuit
topology as are three high quality transformers.
Unlike continuous bias amps, that produce distortion during the push pull stages, the Shenda SD203
features bias “red lights” that help keep the correct bias to the EL34 tubes. After an easy adjustment,
done once every 6 months, your amp will be in tip top condition to deliver the correct base current to
the EL34 tubes – thereby reducing distortion. To bias the amp, simply turn one of the bias screws
until the red light turns off. The Shenda Sd203 is also equipped with many fine components such as
a matched ALPS- potentiometer with less than 0,5 dB balance difference between channels,
metal oxide resistors with 1 % tolerance and the finest MKP 10 WIMA polypropylene capacitors. The
power supply is equipped with a double power- supply with 1.600 μF capacity and finest high joule
capacitors. The use of these high quality components guarantees the full realisation of music and
provides many years of dependable use.
